The next in person course begins in Dudley on Tuesday 24th August 2021.
The next virtual course begins on Wednesday 1st September 2021.
This introductory course aims to give you a grounding in the issues surrounding infant feeding in the UK, a debrief and reflection on your own feeding journey, fundamentals of communication and the basics of positioning and attachment. Anyone with an interest in infant feeding or who comes into contact with parents of young children/babies (e.g. student midwives, baby business owners, doulas etc.) can take part in the course. You do not have to be based in a particular location (although UK based people will get the most out of it) or necessarily have had your own feeding journey.
We are flexible and inclusive, and have a commitment to supporting your learning needs. Your babies/children are welcome to attend the training sessions with you. Ideally you’ll learn as much from other course participants as you do from the set content, so the group has a collaborative, welcoming and respectful ethos. The course is led by a qualified teacher and IBCLC.
The Introduction to Infant Feeding Peer Support Course is £25 (free scholarship places are available for any who need it). Applications are particularly welcomed from those who have historically been underrepresented in infant feeding support, and those living in Birmingham/Black Country
What will you learn?
The face to face introductory course content is delivered over 2 live sessions and a bit of virtual learning. The live sessions take place in person at the Lighthouse Centre, Dudley, which is handily where we run our groups!
